Im normally a huge Sony fan but this must be one of their poorest attempts to catch up with th i-phone.
The negatives. Dont go anywhere without your battery charger, lucky to get more than a couple of days out of it even if not touched.
The phone constantly tells you that applications are left open even if you do shut them which means having to go back into it and then shutting down again!! Trust me this can drive you nuts after a while.
The menu has too much choice and its layout doesnt seem to be in any specific order. There is just too much clutter that you'll never or barely use. Why not add much of it as additional FREE download if you want it? For example in the messaging section I have options for AOL.com, AOL.co.uk, Google Mail, and Sky. Why are they there, they are not relevant to me so a download would have been better.
The biggest blunder of them all though should be awarded to Satio's texting ability. The phone can't keep up with rapid texting so be prepared to type very slow and check it carefully before its sent otherwise there'll lots of mistakes if you go too fast.
The predictive text is not predictive!! Unlike other Sony's I've had the phone soon learns new words as they're spelt over time, this phone however struggles to do so which invariably leads you to you having to take more time to keep trying to enter the same word which the phone still cant spell.
Bluetooth with my car is also hit and miss. This phone has a love hate relationship with its connection whereas previous Sony's have always connected instantly. Not ideal for when you need to drive somewhere quickly as it takes the first 5 mins being stationary as you try again to pair the devices.
The only good thing I can say about this phone is the camera though I would even go as far to say thats not ideal. As its a slide shutter each time you put it in your pocket the shutter can open which automatically activates the camera. When you then go to use your phone you remove the phone from your pocket only to then have to close the camera application down first before you can dial. Again more time, too slow.
Great pictures but the thought which went into its activation was severely lacking. This phone is a camera with a phone. This phone is NOT a phone with a camera.
Dont buy it whatever you do, you'll only end up frustrated and go back to using your previous phone like I have.
