samsung galaxy ace happy bunny
jonty
from Newcastle upon Tyne
,26 March 2013
Very happy with Samsung Galxy Ace. Only issue was after 3 days the phone crashed and would not reboot, hence 3 stars for reliability. Took it to carphone warehouse shop and was given new one with no fuss. (Eventhough I had bought it online, great service carphone warehouse at Kingston Park, Newcastle upon Tyne). Since then had no problems so I guess it was just one of those random events. Just waiting for my cashback as part of my deal then I will be a contented bunny as I feel I got a good deal on the contract overall.

This is my first introduction to a smartphone and it is by no means the best phone out there, but is a solid budget phone which does everything you'll need it to without costing you £30 a month.

Just so annoying
Owster
,23 March 2013
This phone is just so annoying, typing is difficult, when I type for a while and review what I've put there will be letters dotted around and the keyboard can be un-responsive. After 10 minutes of use I will have lost almost all of my battery power, the internet can be very laggy and swiping sometimes freezes the phone for a few seconds and sometimes the phone will freeze completely. This phone feels like a step down from my previous phone which was a samsung tocco lite.

I had this phone for quite a few months, it caused me a lot of stress in that time! Samsung are usually brilliant thats why I chose it.. but It hasnt got a lot of Internal memory, I downloaded 3 apps and the internal memory was full, once full the phone not receive any incoming text messages, so it really stressed me out and I had to sell it on.. even with a 16gb memory card the phone is rubbish.. Wouldn't recommend this phone at all!!!!

but now I find it is a pain, it has moved photo's into a file deleted stuff, switched on and off by itself, you cannot use samsung apps because it says you haven't enough memory I am so glad I never bought a card as the 2mb card that came with it is plenty as most apps go to the phone you cannot move them onto card, I have to clear the ram at least 5 times a day, otherwise it keeps saying low memory delete stuff well I don't know how I can do that as the apps that are on phone which a lot of I don't want/need are on there to stay sorry I ever got this phone it will drive me mad till I can afford to swap which as I have only had few months on 2 yr contract it would seem I am stuck with it DO NOT GET THIS PHONE

Unusable 12 Months into my Contract
Katie
from Manchester
,19 March 2013
This phone is truly the worst thing I have ever bought. Despite having only four apps on it (so I'm hardly testing it's capabilities) it regularly freezes, closes apps and/or completely shuts down. Having put up with it for 9 months, I sent it off to be repaired; they sent it back having "updated the software" and I assumed that would be the end of it. Instead, I nearly missed an exam when it decided to close the clock app in the middle of the night, meaning my alarm did not go in the morning. It regularly misses phone calls and texts, and is truly the poorest quality phone I have ever owned. I have now had to buy a £40 phone to accommodate my contract SIM until next March. Would never recommend.

Very good

This is my first Android phone. Not exactly straightforward to set up, but if you're familiar with Android it'll be no problem. My advice is to download the user's manual from Samsung and read it properly !
The Samsung Kies software wouldn't install on my computer, but you don't need it. It's easy to transfer photos using the usb cable, or wifi (see the Google Play site).
Once it's set up, it's very impressive.
It takes good photos, and the keyboard is excellent for texting, even with bloke-sized fingers.
I got the phone on pay as you go, and it's simple to switch off your mobile data to avoid using your credit up.
It has a built in compass which you need if you intend to use the amazing Sky Map or satellite tracking apps.
Because it's been on sale a while now, if you have a problem with it, a quick Google search will probably find someone who has the answer to it.
My main problem with it is that I can't seem to put it down !
Well worth the money.

Upgraded from a Samsung Monte 2 months ago with no problems at all. Battery life seems lacking compared to my previous phones but this one's doing a lot more. Missing a few features like countdown timer but I'm sure there's apps to sort this & the new toys compensate. Not worked out how to 4ward a message yet. I like it a lot.

This phone is good but only if you use it slowly. I have had its replaced once, and frozen loads of times. If you use it carefully you have nothing to worry about.
It has good apps and a good battery.
