Superb phone, very easy to use, very quick downloads, excellent sound quality. I guess savings made on the camera but not a big deal. Really recommended/

Excellent Value

I have always had smartphones because of my work. I recently lost my palm treo and decided to get a reasonably cheap temporary phone. I'm now hooked on the 5230. It's one of the best purchases I've ever made. I've now ditched my top of the range satnav and only use the integrated AGPS that comes with the 5230. Always gets me to my destination without fail. The sound on the satnav is a bit low though, but get a compatible nokia bluetooth kit and you're sorted. Calender syncs without any problems with my pc. The added bonus is the abundant useful free apps available at the ovi store. Battery life not as good as other nokias that I've had in the past but not worst than other smartphones. Worth every penny!!!

Good phone shame about the firmware!

At first I was happy with this handset until things started to go wrong and all the faults are due to poor firmware. First problem. SMS alert stopped working. The handset was flashed to fix this. Then following the latest firmware the handset started to delete my text messages as though the backspace button was stuck. The handset had a new screen and a firmware flash that didn't fix the issue. The handset was eventually exchanged but even the replacement had the same issue and an auto rebooting issue. I am now trying to get the handset exchanged for a different model as enough is enough! It would be great if Nokia would fix the firmware faults.

OMG Best Fone Eva!

Nokia 5230 is the fone I got last week. It was pretty cheap, about £70.
Good Points: Camera, Bluetooth, Video, Texts, Calls, slim, Touchscreen e.c.t
Bad Points: Bluetooth hasn't worked even though I activated it. Camera and video is a bit rubbish, not enough memory. (but I can put a memory card in!)
Apart from that, its a great up - to - date fone, and the best i've ever got! I love it but sometimes get frustrated when I have to delete my videos and images to fit new ones in. But I suppose its worth the money and I would seriously reccomend it. (especially to music lovers!) I'd give it a rating of four and a half. :)
